Hard times

That was definitively one of the worst couple of months of my life...
Between encountering some major emotional problems and trying to find a real way out of past troubles my personal life seems to be thorn to shreds...
That was main reason that no post were published and hardly anything painted...

Out of things that I actually menage to do was attending to Grey seer painting competition with my friends on which i took gold in Single Sci-Fi with Dark Eldar Wych it was really hard to make good photos due to the pose .

I hope everything will get better from now on and i can post few new things in a few weeks span.

Building gaming base

To build gaming base You will need :
pva glue
super glue
plasti card 0,05 mm and 0,2 m
modeling knife
sanding paper
some bits from plastic kits

First step is to break the cork into a base fitting fragments i used 2 slices to achieve desired height. make sure you have some rough edges and not a clean cuts. You can break or cut the desired shape.

glue the cork to the base using super glue

after the glue is dry it's time to cut the plasti card that will be fited on top of the cork platform. place the base onto the plasticard and draw the shape similar to the one of the cork platform then cut the shape using modeling knife/ clippers
be sure to sand the plasticard so that it can be glued without any problems
ater gluing the plasti card onto the base its time to do some cobblestone. I personaly use finished product and just glue it onto the base
i glued the pieces to the plasti card the i roughen up the edges using clippers to break away fragments that were extending over the originally build platform

When the main part was finished i decided to do a t-iron
It is 2 stripes of plasti card glued together using super glue
Then i cut one end of the tiron to fit desired angle and glued it to the base.
I decided to fit the base with dark eldar helmet to bring extra attention to the base.

When pieces were dry i applied some pva glue onto the cork and and plastic base using old brush
and applied sand.

Finished ! That was easy eh?

Here is the photo of finished base before its painted

To be continued..

Dracon Update

Still not able to take a good photo with my home camera and without the proper light

but here it is

and also a black&white photo to show where and how strong are highlights on particular elements of the armor.

You can see that the main light source is from top left (model's) side so elements are painted in that way, but in order to bring extra focus to the points i like to be focal for mini are additional enlighten by surrounding elements

The Newbold Challenge - rising money for charity

quote of Mr. Ian Newbold:

"The Newbold Challenge has raised just over £25,000 for charity (mainly Children in Need) since its inception 5 years ago. The 2011 Challenge will be attempting to add to this by raising around £5,000 for Children with Leukaemia.

The 1st Creative Event of the 2011 Challenge is now open for entries but doesn't close until 31 March 2011. As usual there are cash prizes for the winners and we'll make matching donations to Children with Leukaemia.

You can read up on the 2011 Challenge at :-

And you can read up on the few Event rules we have at :-

And finally you can view the early entries for the 1st Event of 2011 at :-"

Lets do something to help !
